Costco -- one home run, one World Series strikeout

Fort Worth

Went to Costco today to stock up for the holidays. As did apparently everyone else in town

A home run: eureka! I finally found the Verdi Castelvetrano olives, while looking for the sweet peppers stuffed with goat cheese that another poster mentioned. Didn't find the peppers, but the Castelvetranos are wonderful! Thanks to all of you who posted about them, which encouraged me to keep looking. They were in the cold cases, around the cheeses. Had a big supply.

A sad strikeout: apparently the Kirkland Almond Toffee is no more. I kept looking for it, and thought I just missed it because of the huge displays of other Christmas candies. I mentioned it while I was checking out, and the checker told me they no longer carried it. He said they "demo'd" it last weekend, and it was gone. I asked why they'd demo it if they weren't going to carry it anymore, and he said, "That's how we get rid of things." I then went to the service desk, and found it has been "deleted" from the system. I asked if that meant they'd never carry it again, and was told, "we never say never, but...." And to think I took my last supply as a hostess gift on Thanksgiving! I anticipate severe withdrawal pangs. Somehow, the coupon for Tostitos doesn't help!
