Restaurants at the Merrimack Outlets?

Has anyone heard what restaurants will be going in the new Merrimack outlets? They open in June so they should be announcing soon. Hopefully they will be something new to the area not repeats of others we already have. On another note, rumor is Bahama Breeze is moving into the old On the Border by the Pheasant Lane Mall.

  1. Supposedly the landlord is aiming at higher end retailers, so in theory the restaurant mix would be a bit higher end too. Probably still some chains, but more akin to say a Legals and not an Outback. But so far I don't think they have a ton of leases signed, I suspect a lot of prospective tenants will take a wait and see approach. Wonder if Whole Foods may land there, seeing as how the space on 101A in Nashua that used to have Building 19 hasn't seen much movement.

    1. These are the food outlets at Premium Outlets in Wrentham:
      Auntie Anne's Soft Pretzels
      Buckhead Grill
      The Fudgery
      Green Mountain Coffee
      Jump Asian Express
      Main Street Deli
      Mrs. Fields
      Ruby Tuesday
      The Smoothie Authority

      So...don't expect Legal.

Their website is up! Right now they've got Auntie Anne's, Bananas, Buckhead Grill, Green Leaf's and Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen.

        1. re: SuperGrover

Thanks for the link to the website SuperGrover! Hope they add a standalone / sitdown restaurant too. Bummed to see they don't have a Williams Sonoma or Harry & David (or Restoration Hardware) like they do in Wrentham.

          1. re: southie_chick

It's early. Hopefully something good will come in the 2nd phase.

            1. re: SuperGrover

THAT'S what I'm hoping for SG. They've been kinda quiet about what's going in there, so I'm hoping that what they released was a "partial" list. But it's only 10 minutes away from me, so even if the food is horrible, I can always head home for something to eat.

          2. re: SuperGrover

Auntie Anne's Soft Pretzels - yuck
            Bananas - not familiar
            Buckhead Grill - not familiar
Green Leaf's - was told it's an organic sandwich/salad shop??
Villa Fresh Italian Kitchen - not familiar

            Anyone know about these places?

            1. re: rizzo0904

              found this:

bananas, green leafs, and villa fresh are all the same company. probably crappy mall food court type food.

              1. re: rizzo0904

squeeeeeeee! We're getting a Le Creuset outlet!!! Plus a Lindt outlet though the one in Amherst is making me fat enough as it is.

                1. re: SuperGrover

yay....i don't own any le creuset, but i'd like to get some. hoping they have good deals.

                  1. re: rizzo0904

I will be checking that out too, but I won't give up on my old stand by stores for Le Creuset...TJX stores...check diligently and you may some times find ridiculous deals when stuff goes on clearance ;).

                    1. re: solargarlic

I have purchased most of my Le Crueset and Henkle knives and cutting boards etc. at one of the TJX stores over the years at a fraction of what the "famous" kitchen store sells them...some even have that kithchen store's label and price on them! Just bkeep looking :)

                      1. re: ParisLady

Saw at great Calphalon dutch oven at TJ Maxx--$50, too bad I don't have room for another toothpick in my kitchen, much less a gigantic pot.

                  2. re: SuperGrover

The Lindt outlet in Amherst is better with more discount/discontinued truffle packages.

                2. re: rizzo0904

The new outlet stores are actually pretty good (though the discounts are sometimes not as advertised).
But man, they dropped the ball with the food court. Maybe a new and better place will open up with the phase two area.

                  1. re: bunnyr

I'm heading to the outlets today & when I pulled up the website to check the store listings, it had 3 new restaurants listed to be built - Uno's,Cracker Barrel, & Ruby Tuesday's (and a Dunkin Donuts too). I know they're working on the sites now - not sure which one is going to open first.

                    1. re: southie_chick

                      Cracker Barrel?? Ugh.

Who cares which one opens first. They are all pretty dire.

                      1. re: southie_chick

I was wondering what else they were putting in. Not a fan of any of them...but I'd pick Cracker Barrel if I had to choose.

                        1. re: rizzo0904

I was actually surprised Uno's decided to go there since there's already an Uno's on Amherst Street. I also noticed the webite didn't list DQ, but it is still there & they were jammin' yesterday.
I gotta agree with you rizzo - out of the 3, I'd pick Cracker Barrel (their Sunday fried chicken special is one of my guilty pleasures).

                          1. re: southie_chick

Why can't they bring something new to the area? We already have an Unos right near the outlets and we have a Ruby's on Amherst Street. At least Cracker Barrel is new. Why can't we get a Cheesecake Factory or Red Lobster at the very least?

                            1. re: tiny87

While I haven't eaten at a Cracker Barrel in years, they would be my pick based on the offerings at the Merrimack outlets. I haven't checked out the outlets yet, but plan to soon.

Where else "in these parts" can you get a side of fried okra, or dumplin's? Hashbrown casserole, country ham & biscuits? I love all that stuff! Both of my parents grew up in Tennessee, which clearly explains my fascination with cream style corn (I have a Facebook page dedicated to it) and authentic BBQ. I've been told many times my pulled pork can go up against the "real thing," and I take it seriously.

No, Cracker Barrel isn't exactly real home cookin', but I absolutely adore traditional Southern food and there ain't no other place in the area where I can get a little taste with so many options. I was just checking out their website and I don't see hushpuppies anymore? A travesty, if they have taken hushpuppies off the menu. Harrumph!!

                        2. re: southie_chick

where on the site? i couldn't find it.

                  1. re: whs

I'd think Chipolte would do pretty well there, even with the relatively new one down on Amherst St. I think part of the problem with the current mix is that the space allocated is basically a food court, which kind of limits on what type of places will sign up. For instance, I have only seen Chipolte in either free standing or strip mall locations, not enclosed food courts.

The new restos recently listed sound like they will be freestanding, mabye on the space on the right hand side as you drive in. Still would have been nice to see something other than the places mentioned . PF Changs maybe ?

                    1. re: Msample

One of the store clerks told me over the weekend that there is a rumor the Cheesecake Factory might go in the area they are developing as you drive in to the outlet. I'd rather have Chipotle, or even PF Changs as an option, though the Cheesecake Factory would be better than the current food court.

                      1. re: Tedmom

As with every location, my DREAM would be POPEYE'S!

                          1. re: whs

Would love it if P.F. Changs AND Popeye's would open up here! : )

                            1. re: southie_chick

Oooooooh we're getting a Zwilling J.A. Henckels outlet in October!
