Any Decent Chocolates In Monmouth Or Ocean Counties ?

Now that Pierre Chocolates is long gone does anyone have a favorite place that approaches Pierre's in terms of quality and originality? I'm talking store made here and not the mass producers like Godiva and etcetera. Thanks for your suggestions!

David Bradley chocolatier in Manalapan on Rt 9 (just north of Tennant Rd) is excellent. We get a giant box of assorted items from them each year as a gift from a vendor and the whole office loves it.

Hanna Krause on Route 35 in Toms River has excellent chocolates as well.

Give Van Holten's on Rt 88 in Brick a try, I think they are pretty decent.

Is Van Holten's still open in Brick still open? They had a store in Kearny (where I live) and they closed that store. I think that thier chocolates are outstanding (and I am very picky about my chocolates). If they are open, it will be worth the ride to brick to get some.
I will give them a call tomorrow.

They are still open in Brick as I just saw their add in the Asbury Park Press...

+1 for Suzy's. They did our wedding favors and people still rave about the chocolate.

I know The Chocolate Shop in Red Bank (on White St, i think?) and Suzy's up on 35 in Middletown both offer store made chocolate. Of course, there is also Criterion in Eatontown but I've never really liked their stuff. And the Caramel Shop on 35 in Ocean, but that place is tiny so I don't think they are making it there. +1 for Suzy's. I've always found great stuff. But go early as possible in the season, as the good stuff goes fast.

I've shopped but never bought at Criterion. I didn't think they had anything I liked that I couldn't get at Suzy's.
