Sorry to report that it is closed. I went to the Veau d'Or on Saturday (it is pretty much next door) and saw it was shuttered. I'm mentioning it as several people had mentioned it fondly on a recent thread.

I am so sorry, too. This was the place I liked to go after my French class at FIAF across the street. We got a discount, and the owner, Manny, was always nice to me! Loved the tuna tartare. Such a shame. Any ideas, chowhounds, about where to go for a drink after class nearby? (Cinema Cafe is supposed to stay open till 10 pm but on Monday nights closes before 9.)
