So, went to petit robert tonight (south end location). Yes, ordered the coq au vin.

And it totally hit the spot. It was really, really good! I loved he butter noodles they used. Yum!

I will have to try BJ's coq au vin as well!

My last visit to Petit was horrible. Both the food and service. I was really disappointed since I had really liked it.

Never had a bad meal at BJ. Ever. Have had rude bartender, though.

Which Petit? I think they are all slightly different. I really like the one on Columbus best. Warm friendly staff and the food has been good.

Yes it was Kenmore and it was disastrous. I'll never go back.

I would go to the Columbus location - I have been there before and it was good. Very quaint.

Haven't had the coq au vin, but Petit Robert Bistro makes some great french food at an affordable price.

There probably hasn't been much change in the roster of recommendations since the last time this question came up, in early 2010:

I stand by my recommendation of Brasserie JO.

Third Brasserie JO: if I'm not getting the steak frites there, I'm usually getting the coq au vin.

Although, honestly, it's about 99% certain that I'm getting the steak frites.

Hmmm Brasserie Jo...what is the coq au vin like? Butter noodles? I have eaten here once and it was mediocre at best. I made ressies at Petit Robert as it's the closest. hmmmm so hard to decide!!!

When my aunt & uncle visited Boston from Turkey, this is the dish that I had them try at Brassarie Jo.

They probably found it less offensive than dinde au vin at least... ;-)
