tkcane Dec 13, 2011 10:18 AM

Need some recs for a cruise next week. Will be dining with kids and want something with a nice view where we can get some good conch chowder, fritters, and fresh fish.

Thanks in advance!

We really enjoy Gladys's in St. Thomas. It has been around for years and years and has as many local customers as tourists, if not more, which is always a good sign. While is lacks a view, has full AC and is in a lovely historic building. I am all about being outside in the VIs and looking at the beautiful views but last time we were in St. Thomas, it was nice to be able to take a break in the cool with our 5yo who was a bit tired from walking all over CA.

I can't remember the address, it is on a side street just off the main harbor area. Last trip I had conch fritters and curried conch. There were lots of local seafood dishes on the menu.

The Greenhouse in St. Thomas!!! Right along the quay with a view back across to the cruise ships. We always lunch there when in St. T - do realize that it is very popular with the local shopkeepers as well so will be busy. Have seen lots of kids there. We used to spend alot of time in St. T and last time we were there on a cruise we stopped in to see our friend at his shop - he asked us to lunch at the Greenhouse (good thing cuz that's where I would have gone without him!!)

+1 for Glady"s. Food is great and so is the staff. Reasonable prices and stuff on the menu kids will love.
