Enoteca Sociale - Homemade Pappardelle with Fresh White Truffle

Broad homemade pappardelle noodles, cooked perfectly al dente, bathed in butter. Chef comes out to grate 5 grams of fresh Zigante white truffle on top. We eat. We swoon. Spectacular. Best $42 I've spent in a long time.

The rest of the meal was delicious but that dish will haunt me for a while. Pair it with the 42 ounce bistecca and maybe the blood orange, fennel and apple salad for a grand group feast. A perfect meal for the holidays.

No sign of Grant in the kitchen or on the restaurant's website. Is he actually there already?

    And yes, I'm pretty sure Grant's already there (he was a few weeks ago when I went, and he tweeted about some bottarga dish that made me think of Hoof Dishes Past) though maybe he's off somewhere? I'm not sure he's in there every night.

      Thanks - yeah, I figure he wouldn't be there every night but the fact that there's no mention of him anywhere on the restaurant's website made me wonder. Anyway, Grant or no Grant, it was a delicious dinner.

      And yes TorontoJo, definitely worth making an exception for this one.

        He's still twittering about a new salad as of yesterday. But it's odd he isn't mentioned on the website.

    2. That sounds amazing. I rarely go out for pasta, but Enoteca Sociale is always an exception to that rule.

      1. Enoteca has always been a success for me. Had a wonderful meal at Campagnolo a couple Fridays ago and they had the same dish. Homeade Pappardelle with Fresh White Truffle.

        It was amazing (as was the rest of the meal and drinks). Awesome vibe and we had a friend in town from NYC and she couldnt believe how amazing everything was.

        In my mind you can't go wrong at either restaurant.
