Dennis Foy Whereabouts...

Does anyone know where DF actually is? Is he associated with the new place that's opened/opening on his old Lawrenceville site? I bid on -- and won -- a dinner at his old place, then waited too long to cash it in. Am hoping he'll honor it at his next enterprise! Thanks.

  1. I doubt that he will be making another comeback. He had open heart surgery in 2007 and took over the Lawrenceville Inn because he was consulting there. Disappearing overnight is not a way to retain customers.

    1. According to the Sept. press release for the 2011 Summit Wine & Food Festival,

"Chef Foy has also pursued a painting career that has spanned 35 years, and is currently completing his studies in social work at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia."

And in Nov. he went to Afghanistan to cook for the troops for thanksgiving. http://www.military.com/entertainment...

      1. Well, it seems that Dennis Foy has in fact made another comeback, this time in Lambertville. I saw an ad in this week's Princeton Packet for his new restaurant, called D'Floret, at 18 South Main Street. All it says is that it's open every day from 5 PM to 11 PM. Anyone have additional information?

If I'm not mistaken, the address is where Cafe Galleria used to be - before it got flooded out and moved to a temporary location on Bridge Street.

Ambrose--Table hopping with Rosie, June 12, has more info under her "breaking news" heading--It will be farm to table (what else?) many of his classic dishes and, yes, old Cafe Galleria spot.
