iso canned/jarred sour cherries

Hi I'm looking for some place that sells bottled sour cherries, doesn't matter the brand but the recipe suggest Morello....

Any Russian store will do, really. Sour cherries are a staple ingredient for things like vareniki so you shouldn't see them for much more than $3 for a big jar (but a lot is liquid). However I have not had a pleasant experience at the snowdon store ("Ella's" I guess) because the clerk has always been so unfriendly and not willing to say hello and thank you the two times I've visited.

(for future reference...) Pretty sure they have them at both branches of Ella's Deli (Snowdon metro, across Queen Mary - and Cote Saint-Luc road, corner Westminster)

They may also have some at Batory Euro-Deli on St. Viateur.

I would not expect to pay $6 at either of these places. Probably more in line with the other Russian place mentioned.

Thanks!! I was all set to go to one of those places and I ended up finding them in Fruiterie Mile End (in case anyone else is looking)

so I also went to the Russian store on Somerled (had to go next door for a kids party) and the sour cherries were $3.50 whereas at fruiterie mile end I paid $6 :(

You can also get them at the Russian store on Somerled where Kidnasium and the SAQ are- one block west of Grand.

I've seen a selection at Bucharest on Decarie but I don't know what kind or brand.

I'm pretty sure you can get them at Akhavan Supermarket in NDG.
