Best place to grab a drink before dinner at Keriwa Cafe?
Heading to Keriwa Cafe for dinner this week and my schedule is such that I'll end up in the area quite early before my reservation. It's not an area I'm particularly familiar with. Any recs for a nice spot to have a glass of wine or cocktail before dinner? Or does anyone know if Keriwa has a bar area that I can sit at?

Bar Salumi doesn't open until 6pm. There is a bar at Keriwa. If you have an early reservation the immediate block or two doesn't hold much promise. As for bars, The Sister opens at 4pm and Mezzrow's opens at 11:30am, but both are about 3 blocks east and while The Sister has recently renovated both a more hipster dive bars with charm. Around the corner is the terrible Cardinal Rule where you can sit at the bar-Beau's is on tap but has absolutely no charm. Stay away from Sun Fa at all costs. Upscale holding bars aren't plentiful in the area.
You can also head up Roncesvalles and browse through The Film Buff, stop in at any one of numerous coffee stops, Gabby's also has an outpost on Roncesvalles, but then you heading into Barque territory and beyond where the Howard Park Restos and bars are located.

the stools at the bar are usually available. bar salumi has some good wines and some nice small plates-the octopus one of my faves....
