Looking for advice for Charleston, SC

Hi All;

This Baltimore hound will be in Charleston in a few weeks. We'll be staying at a B&B in the historic district without a car. Thanks to previous posts on this board, I've gotten an idea of places we shouldn't miss. I've still got a couple of openings, and would love some suggestions.

Day One
lunch - Hominy Grill - shrimp and grits!
dinner - open

Day Two
lunch - Husk - burgers at the bar.
dinner - FIG

Day three
lunch - open
dinner - Charleston Grill

We seem to have low country cuisine covered (yes?), so I'm looking for some other suggestions for the two openings. We're adventurous eaters, love all types of cuisines. What places within walking distance of the historic district stand out? Any outstanding ethnic places that shouldn't be missed?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Great choices. There's a new place, MacIntosh. I haven't been but I know people are talking about how great it is. Also consider Fish. Both are on Upper King.

Il Cortile del Re is nice Italian, and Fulton Five is great as well.

Husk has the Burger on the lunch menu, usually. Given that, I would sit in the main part of the restaurant. It is a beautiful renovation of an old Charleston home.

Right. And now that I think about it, I don't think the bar was open at lunch last time I was there.

Thanks - we'll keep that in mind when we stop by. Any other good burger places in town, in case Husk doesn't work out for some reason?

I've always been fond of Moe's Crosstown Tavern ... and I like their burgers AND their BLTs. Most convenient location is Cumberland, downtown. Open for lunch.

Moe's is great. You might want to also consider Closed for Business, just in case you like a nice beer with your burger:
