Where Can I Find GOOD Stollen in NJ?

ambrose Dec 11, 2011 03:31 PM

Any idea where I can find good stollen (the Christmas cake of Germany) in central Jersey? Many of the commercial brands I've had in the past were dry, to the point that they seemed stale. Believe it or not, I used to find pretty good stollen at A&P stores. A number of people even asked if I'd made it myself. Now, I can't find it anywhere.

A friend has told me that Wegman's has stollen, which they make themselves. Anyone ever tried it?

I've never tried it, but I've heard that the stollen sold at Aldi's is pretty good.

if it isn't too far- the market basket in franklin lakes actually makes a great one. It is however, a seasonal item for them- so you need to check if they are making them.
