Rebuttals removed?????

Why were all the rebuttals removed from this post from the owner? Seems strange that an owner can not comment on the people that give it a bad or good review. Makes you wonder if this site regulates who says what. The idea of this site, so i thought, was to let both patrons and the owners of the places people are looking for reviews to comment on there expieriances and let you make a decision as to go there or not.

I'm gonna go out on a very short limb here and suggest that owners are not permitted "rebuttals" because that would almost certainly lead to an avalanche of that sort of posting. A central thesis of these boards is that they represent the "chowhound"....... get it?..... not the shop owner or restaurateur.

One would hope that a restaurant would have some support from its 'positive' clientele if negative comments are posted about it. That really does seem to be what happens here. That way the opinions are all neutral, or at least that's the idea.
