NIce list! (FYI: The Admiral late night menu now features a damn fine sous vide burger.)

      1. re: Jeff C.

I imagine that burger is delicious...I am a big sous vide fan, but never had a burger that way. Unfortunately, we live an hour + from late nights there are rare (and the 9 AM mimosas decrease the likelihood of me staying awake past 9 PM)...

        1. re: winefuhrer

Understood. And you're right about The Admiral's Dark & Stormy. (That homemade ginger beer is amazing.)

          1. re: Jeff C.

that's so funny about the Dark & Stormy, my husband got one the first time we went and I guess didn't realize exactly what it was and could barely finish it he hated it so much. He's learned... haha no worries though as there are plenty of other options on their list that he loves!! But, that's our joke, "so....ya gettin' a Dark & Stormy???" LOL

            1. re: Scirocco

The home made ginger ale at The Admiral is indeed fan-freakin'-tastic.

          Hey Mark,

Are you cooking with Lump charcoal at your house? If not, you need to.

          1. re: supernc

depends on the timing. when i get a late start, i generaly grill/smoke with charcoal/lump; when i plan ahead, i use hickory.

one of the few silver linings of the recession/depression is that it's forced me to cook at home significantly more. i've rediscovered my love of and ability for it, and my grilling/smoking especialy has really come on strong. it's been a good food year.

            1. re: Jeff C.

No kidding...I will bring the vino.

              1. re: winefuhrer

                1. re: miss piggy

Funghi pizza? Is that mushrooms or mold? (The former, I hope.)

                  1. re: Jeff C.

Saw your list in the Mountain Xpress...congrats, Jeff!

                      1. re: Jeff C.

i'm curious. did you write that for the xpress & then post it here too, or did they lift it and cite the author but fail to credit the source?

                        1. re: mark

The former. I had the option of using my full name but chose not to because I want the same food/service as everybody else. (Even non-paid journalists have ethics, believe it or not.)

                          1. re: Jeff C.

yeah, i wanted to use a pseudonym when i wrote a review for them, but wound up using my name. luckily, it never came back to bite me in the ass.
