Tips for Dining, Eating and Food Shopping in Philadelphia (inc. New Jersey suburbs)

No time to bake- amazing bakery cake or dessert needed - Main Line or nearby

I am going to a small, intimate Christmas dinner party Saturday and need to bring a dessert. Do not want to do cupcakes, bars or cookies, but something fabulous that can be cut up and served. Any favorite desserts you would bring to a party. I know they have some beautiful desserts at Bakery House, Aux Petite in Wayne, etc.... but what is your favorite? Also, I will be near a Wegmans beforehand if you have a favorite from there too.

  1. Aux Petite Delices gets my vote. The Delice pastry, the little cake with a dark chocolate coating and crispy layers with hazelnut drives me nuts--it's sooo good and it comes in a larger version which is fabulous. I would absolutely bring that to the dinner party.

    1. Aux Petite Delices gets my vote as well. Their Chambord cake is my favorite, I believe it does need to be ordered a bit more in advance than some of their other cake flavors, though.
