Tom Tuesday Dinner

Is it worth it? When it first started, I tried but failed to score a reservation. Now the prices (now w/ wine included) have gone up a bit more than I expected it to (or since I last looked) and I'm wondering if it's worth it. I've done Chef Table at Brooklyn Fare which was worth the money and the few weeks I spent trying to get a reservation. Also, because not everyone in my party makes six figures or close, I want to make sure that the experience and food are well worth the money. I would really feel bad for anyone to regret this or think it was so-so.

Yes, I'm watching Top Chef right now and I was reminded of this.

  1. I don't think he's having them, at least in the near future. The website has old early 2011 dates listed.

    I went Dec 2009 and thought it was a nice meal, but not great. Yes, the meal was pretty expensive, with a base of $195. FYI, Chef Colicchio doesn't walk around and greet people, etc. Maybe for the later seatings he might. He's actually in the kitchen plating/ inspecting each dish that goes out (which is what you'd expect).

      Good to know. Yeah, I noticed as well that the dates were for early 2011, but I figured that it's one of those things that depending on his time, availability and interest is something that he might continue at some later time. I remembered the first time he took an extended pause, it was about a year or more (I believe) before more dates were posted. Hmm... maybe I'll just wait for M Wells to reopen or make another reservation for the Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare. Thanks for your input.
