Another Birthday, More Restaurants, and a Scheduling Problem -- Saturday Brunch/Lunch?

w

Like Ms. Swank, (see earlier thread), I would like to take my partner out for a birthday meal this month. Problem is, we're limited to Saturday brunch or lunch.. First choices of Island Creek, Lineage, Bondir, Estragon, Craigie on Main and Grotto are all closed on Saturday mornings. Any ideas? So far, I've only identified Shiki in Brookline, and that's one of our regulars -- I'd like somewhere more interesting.

Neptune Oyster doesn't open until 11:30 a.m., and if you get there beforehand (as eager I sometimes do) you'll stand in line. Always worth it though. Save me some cherrystones!

Russell House Tavern in Harvard Square has brunch on Saturday. I've been there once, about a year ago. I remember it being quite tasty, with a nice atmosphere and excellent service.

L'Espalier serves a marvelous lunch, starting at noon if that's not too late.
