Interesting article - but ranking Bowmore higher than Lagavulin 16 and Caol Ila? And where's the quarter cask? It's the best of the Laphroaigs.

I have 6 of the top 10 in my cabinet and mine would go:

    Lagavulin 16, Laphroaig 18, Ardbeg 10, Laphroaig 10, Coal Ila 12, Bowmore 12.

Laphroaig Quarter cask would go just behind Lagavulin 16, though really it is a very close call with the 18 yr.

I kind of wondered if they leaned in favor of smoky over all else (intentionally or not). I think Bunnahabhain is fabulous, but it's just different from the rest.

I've heard good things about Bunnahabhain, I've just never seen it at a price that made me want to buy it. Plus it's one of the more subtle Islays and I am not sure if you can tell from my list but I am a fan of the peat monsters ;-)

I'm wiith you on the quarter cask but I put the Laphroig 10 ahead of the 18...I like the roundhouse punch. It's the windswept, ruddy Scot in me, I s'ppose.
