JOURNEY IN MY JOURNEY
I am driving cross county from North Carolina to Las Vegas and I am looking for restuarants to stop at to eat great food. I have been searching the internet for different places, no luck. Came across this website so I thought I give it a try.
So I will be driving 40 west going thru Tennessee, Arkasas,Oklahoa, New Mexico, Arizone, I really dont want to travel to far off my route, but would really like to try different places to eat. So I am really hoping I could get some good ideas and places that I could stop. I was also wondering if anyone knew of any places on my way that show Diner,Drive in, Dives have been to.
Welcome to Chowhound. You are asking a very broad question that is difficult to answer. Here are some suggestions on how to get the information you are looking for:
1. Chowhound is organized geographically into groupings of states. For example, this board only covers Tenn and Kent, so only recommendations for restaurants along the Tenn portion of your trip are permitted. In order to ask about other states, you should post your request on the other appropriate boards (Central South for Arkansas, for example).
2. A list of the specific cities where you think you might be stopping, the type of food you're looking for, amount you're hoping to pay, distance off the highway you're willing to travel, etc are all good details to provide. It will make it much easier for people to respond.
3. Chowhound has a search feature that allows you to see previous responses to similar questions. Its located in the upper right hand corner of this page. As an example, I just typed "40" into this board's search, and came up with lots of posts about places along I-40. Here is one for example:
Good luck and happy eating.
I might be making a similar journey (depending on weather) and these places are on the radar:
Memphis area: Central BBQ (Summer Ave location) and Cozy Corner BBQ both look like easy on/off for I-40. If I go this route I will try to hit both places.
As already indicated, you will need to post on multiple boards in order to get appropriate responses and not incur the wrath of a CH moderator. I have suggestions for OK, the Texas Panhandle and New Mexico, so please post in those boards so I can respond.
