Downtown Toronto for 2 Nights

Hey, everyone! I'll be visiting downtown Toronto for two nights from 12/19-12/21. I'm thinking hard about the Black Hoof and Enoteca Sociale, but would welcome any and all suggestions for regional favorites or Toronto fare I just shouldn't miss. I am not a picky eater at all, but my wife will require some regular meat and potatoes type dishes to be present at the restaurant.. =P Thanks in advance!

I guess I should add, I love a good beer or a glass of scotch to end the night. Local breweries or whiskey bars are an added bonus!

Love the Hoof but you'll find little veggies. I'd suggest Woodlot — similar philosophies. And the Hoof is closed Tuesday and Wednesday (20 & 21). Woodlot closed Mondays.

I would recommend Beer Bistro if you like beer one of the better selection in the city. Food is better than your regular pub fare.
A perhaps odd spot is the Corks bar inside Longos next to Air Canada Centre. They only have local brews on tap and bottles as far as I know and 3 free oysters with a pint on Thursdays and 6.99$ pizza.
Black Hoof is a local fav so can't go wrong there.
