Plenty of FRESH DURIAN at Hawaiin Market

I have seen a few posts on this board asking about purchasing FRESH durian -- although I can't imagine how your car will smell afterward!
Well, now the Hawaiin Market on Valley Blvd. has plenty of fresh durian and fresh jack fruit. The jack fruit smell quite delicious.

Southeast corner of Del Mar, across from Focus Plaza. It's actually called Hawaii Market.

i think i have seen lychees at whole food but don't go there. also trader joes doesn't have good produce either.

you can get 3.99/pd for fresh durian at the two
fresh fruits markets on the corner of Bolsa& magnolia in Westminster
there are plenty of other exotic fruits - all fresh now like mangos, lychees, mangoteesn, longans, guavas, papayas etc...

frozen durian os only .79/pd inside any supermarket in the areas.

you've seen fresh mangosteens??? Where did you see them? I was under the impression that the FDA didn't allow mangosteens to come into the US, due to some fly or something like that.

Lychees are everywhere. You can even get them at Gelson's. Again, it is December, so the price will be high, as it is not the season for lychee.

I've seen them in Trader Joe's but not recently. I don't go to Whole Foods very often so I have no idea. Let us know if you find them (WITHOUT USING ALL CAPS BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING).

whole foods has lychee sometimes but i have not seen it there
i saw cherimoya,dragonfruit,and goose berries there.
dont buy dragonfruit too expensive also cherimoya
they alo have starfruit and passionfruit

It's true that cherimoyas are expensive (they don't ship well), but they are heavenly and unique (try them sometime if you have not). Can buy them for around $4/lb. Be sure to eat them before they get overripe (black and soft is overripe). Dragonfruit aren't quite as tasty but are "different" and interesting.
