How to store sweetened roasted nuts?

I make sweetened roasted nuts by tossing them with a melted butter, brown sugar and salt mixture, then roasting for about 10 minutes at 350. I have only made them for myself and stored them in the refrigerator. I want to make some for Christmas gifts. Can they be stored at room temp. and if so, for how long? Or, if not, do you have a recipe that's similar, and safe at room temp? Thanks!

You could suck them down in a foodsaver bag. They would hold a long time like that especially in the fridge. If you were giving them as gifts I think I would still do it and insert the bag into the gift tin.

not sure why yhou put them in the fridge at all. don't they get soggy?

they will last at room temp, covered tightly, at least a week, possibly more. butter doesn't spoil at room temp.

I put them in the fridge because I thought they might spoil because of the butter. They don't get soggy, of course they don't last long with me around anyway ;-)
