Best Eats in North Beach/Telegraph Hill - Just moved!!

So I am moving to the North Beach/Telegraph Hill area in San Francisco (around Broadway and Columbus). This is the first time I've actually lived in this city, and was wondering what the best local eats are. I'm obviously being broad because I want to know a few of the must try spots regardless of type in the area.

Any suggestions are welcome, from high brow dining, to hole-in-the-wall eateries, from thai to italian.

Thanks again for helping me out and happy eating!

  1. Liguria Bakery for focaccia, Mario's Bohemian Cigar Store for a meatball sandwich and a inexpensive glass of red wine while looking out at the park, Tony's for Margherita pizza.

    1. Macaroni Sciue Sciue (Neapolitan), Sotto Marè

Definitely check out l'Osteria del Forno, with the exception of their pizza. It's a little hole in the wall, and if I'm not mistaken all of their cooking is done in an oven, but they turn out some wonderful gratins, sandwiches, and one or two meat dishes each day.

      2. Some of my favorites in the neighborhood are L'Osteria del Forno, Ideale, BaoNecci, Yuet Lee for cheap HK seafood, Bund Shanghai, Z & Y for Sichuan, Tommaso's, Tony's. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd probably go to Lalola regularly. Rogue and La Trappe for beer.

Add Church Key for beer. They have a small number of beers on tap (all excellent), their bottle selection is awesome, and it never gets too packed.

Liguria Bakery is worth a stop, but they sell out quickly, sometimes before 11AM.

Also check out Maykadeh Persian Cuisine, Golden Gate Bakery (chinese), & Giordano Brothers for their all in one sandwiches (meat, coleslaw, & fries).
