Rizzuto's in Stamford now open

Last time I hit up ShopRite in Commerce Park I saw that there was a 'now open' sign on the new Rizzuto's. (In the former route 22 spot)

I've heard good things about his other restaurants but have never been

Has anyone gone to give it a try? I'd love to hear opinions/experiences.

Eaten here twice,. second time to give it another chance. Will not return. Food is lousy--sauces are heavy handed, Caesar salad was terrible and soggy (obviously refrigerated with dressing vs. freshly tossed), minestrone soup was the same quality as Campbell's, service is amateurish and forgetful. Exception was fried calamari which was good, and the ambiance is pleasant and lively. Have not tried pizza but if they can't get simple things like soup and salad right, much less way oversalted main dishes, why bother?

The wife and I ate here once and won't return. Gruff host, clueless waitress and lousy service (though she aimed to please), and most importantly the food was not good. There are many better options in the area. Steer clear of this place.

I have been to the one in Westport and it was good. Hopefully this branch will be very similar. Wood fired pizza, good fish and meats.

I have eaten there twice since it opened. Once with my wife and another time for happy hour with a buddy. Food is good overall. Happy hour specials on food are great. $5 pizza (any type on the menu). Great value.

My folks had been to the one in Westport as well, thanks taboo and InderB.

$5 pizza is pretty awesome. I assume it's the sort of 10" artisan pie kind of thing, but still that's great. Maybe I'll see if my friends are interested in a sort of end of the week before the holidays happy hour thing.
