Any early Pasture reviews? [Richmond, VA]
I'm dying to try this new place out since I love Comfort and Six Burner. Anybody been?

Fine, to my mind, nothing special. I don't like the decor, feels to sterile to me. The beers on tap are excellent, might be the most interesting selection in Richmond. I find the food good, but forgettable - was just there last week and can't even remember what I ate.
While I wouldn't call myself disappointed, none of our party has any urge to rush back. I hope it succeeds, but..
I was back in town over the holidays, and went to Pasture with a group. It seemed to have potential. Since the menu is small plates and we were a group of six, we ordered one or two of most everything on the menu and I tried most dishes. Some were good (brussels sprouts, pot liquor, fried oysters), some were average (butter bean hummus, fried chicken, pork belly). I wasn't in the mood for sweets, so when everyone else ordered dessert, I had the chips and onion dip, which I kind of loved. Of the deserts, the pecan pie got more praise than the 7-Up cake. We didn't have good luck with the wine list, but we also ordered something we didn't recognize withouth asking asking for advice so maybe that's our fault. I agree that the decor isn't great - it feels unfinished.
Overall, it feels like it could be a really good place if they make a few adjustments (decor and pumping up the menu a bit). I like the grazing concept. If it were in my neighborhood, it's the kind of place I'd go have a drink and a snack with a friend.
