TJ's coffee - whole bean

cwdonald Dec 5, 2011 08:49 AM

I am looking for a flavorful, affordable whole bean that is preferably dark roast. I am finishing up a Joe's Dark Roast. I noticed there were also other options, including a French Roast and some single bean coffees. Anyone have any recommendations?

We've been drinking TJs Bay Blend Ultra Dark Roast for about six weeks now. It suits our demand for a bracing brew. (using a French Press).

I'll second the Bay Blend, and the Fair Trade (not regular) Sumatra is also very good. And making it in an Aeropress is divine; I might as well trash my 2-3 french presses.

Drmoza, thanks for your reply. Just ordered an Aeropress, to add to my collection of ways to make java.

We are very happy with the French Roast. I'm old-fashioned and would be happier with making it in a Chemex, but even in an electric coffeemaker (filter basket scrubbed withi an inch of its life), it's great, especially with the price.
