Has anyone tried this Indian place yet? They took over the old Top Notch/4Park Trattoria spot. I haven't been yet but their menu seems authentic.
Any thoughts?

Been wanting to try, and this post sent me to their website (http://www.chutneynco.com). I can't lie...I find the fact that lunches come with FRIES a bit disconcerting. Still, I'll take one for the team at some point soon and check it out with one of my co-workers, as we're always wishing for decent Indian food for lunch!

We went during their first week. We were very excited about a new Indian close to home. We felt it was too Americanized. We ordered the mushroom puff, thinking it was some type of Indian pastry, but it was regular puff pastry. They didn't ask how spicy we would like our food. The dishes had nice flavors minus the heat. I ordered the salmon and it might have almost been from a non-ethnic restaurant. My husband ordered the chicken mahkni which we both thought was good (but without much heat).
We do love Indian food and tried Brick Lane Curry House in Upper Montclair recently. It's definitely worth the drive. Chutney & Co is okay if you are looking for something local and close to home.
