Three different areas of Manhattan
Greetings C-Hounds
I'm going to have a short trip to Manhattan sometime this month, and looking for meal recommendations in several areas.
I am an adventurous eater with a relatively small budget. I get enough Asian food in my hometown, so unless it's a don't miss, it would not be my first choice.
First area:
I have some business at Sotheby's which is on York avenue near 71st street (not too from from 71st and 1st ave.) When I'm done, it will be lunchtime. Any suggestions in that area - or a 6 block radius?
I may be traveling with a friend who wants to see the Rock center tree, and perhaps Christmas window displays (any suggestions on good window displays?) What about lunch or dinner in this area?
Finally - hoping to get standby tickets to something on Broadway. Pre theatre dinner - I usually head over to 9th ave, looking for some suggestions there (i know to avoid the TImes Square chains.)
And really finally - coming into the city through Grand Central. I have enjoyed fried oysters at the Oyster Bar - still worth a visit?
Thanks so much!
How much are you willing to spend, per person, before tax, tip, wine/drinks for these 3 meals?
Cuisine preferences?

Hi Kathryn
lunch - probably up to $20, $25. Dinner - $30-$40. Breakfast (did I say breakfast? I am staying in Tarrytown across from the El Dorado diner, hard to resist breakfast there) but breakfast in the city - $15 or more.
If I get a great breakfast then I just snack for lunch.
