Drumsticks in the crock-pot -timing
I normally do sweet and sour chicken wing drumsticks in the crock-pot while we are at church on a Sunday morning -it works out perfectly - about 3.5 hrs on high and then a few minutes under the broiler.
Well hubby couldn't find 'drumettes" at the grocery and I told him to buy regular drumsticks- but I'm finding anywhere from 3-8 hours cook time on high -but mostly 8 hrs on low. Any idea if I'm actually coming home to lunch today (it will be right at 5 hrs on high)

You should be fine with the 'high' setting, but what exactly do you mean by drumettes v. drumsticks? Is there a quantifiable difference? If they're both dark meat, and both bone-in, then size would be the only variable. Still, I find that even relatively larger thighs cook on 'low' for me within a workday.
Now.. can you explain the sweet and sour ingredients you use? I've got some frozen drumsticks to use and don't want to do adobo chicken right now. :)

re: megjp
5 hrs was just fine BTW!!
Well the chicken wing drumsticks are sold as drumettes in my grocery.
Drumsticks being actual drumsticks.I just do a mix of pineapple juice, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar and red pepper flakes or red chilli sauce.
I don't really have measurements -but I would guess:
small can of pineapple juice
half a small bottle of ketchup
2tbs brown sugar
Some garlic powder and salt to taste
2-4 tbs of apple cider vinegar
0.25 cup soy sauce
and crushed red pepper or red pepper sauce to tasteI cook and then stick them under the broiler for 3 mins and they are really yummy.
