Christmas meals in restaurants
I put up this topic as there are always some montrealers or tourists looking for restaurant cooked meals (beyond chinatown or hotel chains) during Christmas when most restaurants are closed. I also found it intesting as did not know you can pick up tourtières and other holiday favourites at PDC.
This article starts listing a few opened on 24th and 25th for christmas meals and we can add others to the list

re: montrealwaitress
They always are, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to spend their holidays at Gibbys.
If anyone is interested, I was able to make reservations at Le Club Chasse et Peche for New Years. They have an 8-course fixed-prix menu for $130 with complimentary champagne and an optional $80 wine pairing. The maitre'd (or whoever I spoke with over the phone) had said that he'd contact me at a later date with further details on the menu (I'm not sure that it's been set as of yet) and only asked if there were any dietary restrictions.
If anyone is still looking for a really nice/festive dinner option for NYE with fun atmosphere, I suggest you jump on this asap because every other place that I've tried has already been sold out for weeks. Details are not being advertised on their website or anywhere else, so there still appears to be seating available. $210 for an 8-course degustation with champagne and wine pairing on New Year's Eve is a pretty amazing deal! I spent nearly that much on a meal for myself at the restaurant last month... There's only one dinner seating (they want to start serving at around 9pm, so advise guests to be at the restaurant by 8:30 at the latest) and it's supposed to run late into the evening. Expect to be finnished with dessert and champagne by midnight.

I probably shouldn't be posting this until my reservations are in... but I called CCeP last night and was told that they are open for New Year's and are hosting a special event for the 31st.
The person that I spoke with was unable to explain what would be taking place at the time, but asked to call me back this evening. Evidently, I am guessing that there are still tables available.

Does anyone know if CCeP is open for NYE on the 31st?
It looks like 400 Coups isn't happening (I tried every possible variation on OpenTable and they're booked through for the entire weekend) so I'm looking for an equal alternative...
I might look into La Porte or Les 3 Petits Bouchons also.

re: OliverB
Sorry for the multiple posts... Les 400 Coups contacted me and they are completely sold out. They've offered to help with alternate suggestions for the 31st which was very nice.
- I've booked at Le Saint Gabriel for Saturday the 24th with fixed-prix special menu.
- I've booked at Aix Cuisine for Sunday the 25th with fixed-prix special menu.
Not sure what to do for the 31st now... I had no idea that restaurants would fill up almost a month in advance. Any other suggestions for NYE?
I'm looking for a place with lively atmosphere but not overly tourist dinner-club style. Champagne and fixed-prix with wine pairing preferred. Swinging enough for a fun NYE shindig, but still intimate for a small group of several couples... French or nouveau regional cuisine would be great, and the emphasis is on a killer degustation menu with top service. Think CCeP.
Any help would be super appreciated... the list of places with available seating is limited this year.

OpenTable is not showing availabilities for Les 400 Coups on the 31st (NYE) but I just sent an email for the 2nd dinner service. I hope they have room!
SEb l'Artisan in St-Jovite is open for the holidays and are doing a special Christmas menu for Dec. 24-25, which is probably where I'll be on Sunday night. Made reservations at Le Saint-Gabriel for the 24th.

http://voir.ca/voir-la-vie/2011/11/24...If tourists are reading this they will need to know that unlike other provinces quebec has a special meal en famille late evening on 24th and this custom is reflected in restaurants so may be best to join in that than try to find your traditional christmas feast in a resto on 25th.
