  1. That's a very tricky area in my book. Depending on your definition of moderate, Philipe is pretty good. Ma Peche isn't far from there and is moderate though very casual.

Le Train Bleu inside Bloomingdale's is fun and traditional (though hard to call it 'great'), moderately priced as are most of the other food venues in there. Patsy's pizza is pretty good. Cheap would be Fresh & Co for salads, etc. which are great for what they are.

Others may have better suggestions, but I tend to think of Le Cirque which is hard to call moderate.

I think that Serendipity 3 has reopened since their health code violations. Otherwise, it gets

Not only is Le Cirque, far, far from moderately priced. The is not "great" by any stretch of the imagination.

I guess others may not have better suggestions, but agree that Le Cirque is not moderate.

    2. I ended up at Patsy's--very good pizza and excellent salad with grilled chicken--husband had spaghetti and tomato sauce (not exactly adventurous) but it was delish--sauce very good! Bill?
Less than 50 dollars! Nice atmosphere but a bit crazy cause of the season..very nice staff. Going there and the Brasserie next door any time I come to this neighborhood.....

Glad you found something you liked! Thanks for reporting back. I don't know the Brasserie. You also may want to consider David Burke at Bloomingdale's, particularly for lunch.
