Bacon my mail

I'm thinking of ordering bacon to give to friends this year as a Christmas gift. I have seen Nueske's mail order catalog but I know there must be others out there. Does anyone have any to recommend or to recommend avoiding? I'm not looking for a "Bacon of the Month" type of product but one that I can order by the pound or package. Thanks!

    La Quercia has some Tamworth bacon.

      My favorite-favorite bacon is from Green Mountain Smokehouse in Windsor, VT near Okemo. Here's a cool overview of their products--as well as a pic of their thick, maple bacon, mm, mmm, mmmm!--from Roadfood:

                  Good gawd--I had heard of this bacon previously but had NO EYE DEER it sold for $24.99 a pound. This sh*t is bananas: B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

              Zingerman's has several kinds of bacon that can be ordered by the pound (or in a bacon of the month club). Also I know a few local farms near me (Phila) will ship their bacon so that might work too - also PorcSalt.com may ship to you!
