Ellefsen is on the corner of St-Zotique and St-Denis. Nice choices of smørrebrød, gravlax and daily specials. Nice selection of wine by the glass. I steer clear of the poutine: too salty for me. They have a long table in the back, which I believe would suit a group of ten.
Pho Tay Ho, with some of my favourite vietnamese food in the city, is at 6414 rue Saint-Denis, just south of Beaubien. (It's not the best pho in the city, but their meat platters are outstanding.) Lots of write-ups on this board.
El Chalateco is across from the Beaubien metro. It's homey Salvadorean food with a nice atmosphere and a fairly long menu. Call ahead to see if they can accommodate the group.
