Anyone been to 2G Japanese Brasserie, SF since Toshio Oguma, former executive chef of Morimoto Napa, started recently?

I have, after Jonathan Kauffman's review. It's a frustrating place. Huge, with very mixed quality of service.
I sat at the sushi bar and ordered mostly sushi. They had a few unusual items--it was a few weeks ago, so I don't remember what. Lots of interesting sounding dishes from the kitchen, and junked up creative rolls.
Despite my being the only one there for the first 20 minutes, with no other sushi or sashimi orders, the main chef handed off my order to his assistant and ignored me.
There was a private party in the back room, which might have contributed to the busy-ness. A manager came by late to make sure I had everything I needed before my curtain time.
Late in the game, the sushi chef seemed to figure out I knew something about sushi. But I can't say I'm rushing to go back. Male sushi chefs underestimate female customers at their peril.
