If you can make it to Orange, Haven Gastropub is having a IPA Night featuring Pliny, 120 minute, Ballast Point Sculpin and other as part of LA Beer Week next Tuesday night.

It's been floating around on tap... Steingarten had it about a month ago, as did Beachwood in Long Beach.

Beachwood has a DFH day tomorrow, might be there.

Bottle-wise, it's been almost a year since this post and I've still never seen it.

I used the web site "Fish" finder function for this particular brew and it returned these places in Los Angeles to buy it: http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits/...

ADD: Sorry, the darn finder defaulted back to all DF brew (instead of my carefully selected 120 min IPA) when it couldn't match me to anything within 5 miles of my selected zip and when I expanded it to 50 miles, while making sure the 120 was the selected brew and from stores only where bottles would be found, it came up with nothing. So bottled isn't making it here, at least according to their own web site.

They don't distribute it in bottle in CA.

From their website, these are the states that get it:

We currently send 120 Minute IPA (when available) to our wholesale partners in the following states:

AZ, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, IL, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, VA, WA

If anyone really wants it in bottle, they'd have to get it shipped from a store that is in one of those states and will ship to CA.

Haven't tried that yet. Is it on the shelves at WF?

No problem. I am going to the Kern River event at Far Bar myself for LA beer week. If you like Dogfish Head, you will absolutely fall in love with Kern Rivers beers.

I picked up several bottles while in New Jersey last month to bring home to Sacramento, thinking I'd share and/or store for future as it is supposed to age very well.. Great beer for slow sipping or to share with someone. It's like drinking a tall glass of port.

Go for the 90min instead/aswell if you can find it. It's a mix of the 60 and 120 and in my opinion the best of the three. They're harder to find even on the East Coast because they, well, don't bottle much.

I think the 60, 90 and 120s are all totally different beers.

They have a 75 min which I've never seen and I'm not sure it's been bottled, but that is a blend of the 60 and 90.

TS, I've never seen 120 min on the shelves here in LA. If you find it, please post where you got it.

You might want to try joining a beer website like beeradvocate.com and trading our local beers (southern california has plenty of great beers you can't find in other parts of the country) for some DH 120 with someone.

                  Good luck.

I've always kept an eye out for the 120 minute IPA, but, like BrewNChow, I've never seen it in stores in LA. I see the 60 and 90 minute IPA all the time (Vendome, Whole Foods), and think some of the purported 120 minute IPA sightings might actually be those.

I think the 120 minute IPA would make an ideal gift. It's not a beer you want to consume regularly, but it's definitely an experience.

you might try calling red carpet wine in glendale. while their beer selection, the last time i was there, wasn't what it used to be, i could swear i bought a bottle of 120 there.
of course, as perip says, i might have hallucinated the whole thing.

The 120 IPA and the World Wide Stout are seasonal and are only available as individual 12 ounce bottles. The 120 IPA is generally out in the spring and is seriously hard to locate on the West Coast. High Time has occassionally has had it. Venice Whole Foods has had it (they're great... for instance, they have BrewDog Tactical Nuclear Penguin at the moment and have been offering occassional tastings of it).

Interesting! Does WF Venice also carry Pliny the Elder like some other locations do?

Didn't see Pliny the Elder on the shelves at WF, but they do carry some when it's released (Venice and El Segundo). You have to ask for it as they ration it out. Both Beverage Warehouse and Bristol Farms were selling four to a customer when they had it in stock.

stopped by oaks gourmet, did not have 120 only 90 and 60.

FWIW, I didn't like the 90 minute very much. Guess I don't understand this IPA thing.
