Any thoughts on dinner at Peels?

Going here Sat night. Any must have or must avoid dishes. Also is there a bar to have some drinks at?

We've been multiple times and have always liked it. I love their fried chicken (I think it's the best I've had in the city, actually), and have also had several good fish preparations. Cocktails are good and we favor those over their wine options.

Like Kathryn said, there are two bars. The upstairs bar is more comfortable, IMO.

We wanted the fried chicken and when we ordered it the waitress stated" we have had multiple complaints about the fried chicken tonight. You might not want to order it"

How weird is that? I wonder what was going on. It's been totally delicious every time I've had it.

Extremely loud. RGR would hate it. Chorizo tacos were excellent. Shimp and grits were good as well. The watress talked us out of the Fried Chicken, Pork Leg and Beef Stew special. Not a good sign. Ended up with the Rib Eye and fish special which was quite nice. $20 cab by the glass was dissappoining. Overall a decent meal but I would not venture back or reccomend other to go.

There are two bars, one on each level.
