HONG KONG: Best Traditional Cantonese Restaurant with One Michelin Star

Planning to have a solo traditional Cantonese lunch at 1-Michelin star restaurant when I come back to HK in January. Dimsum is not an option--planning to order a "real" meal. I'm currently oscillating between Yung Kee, Fook Lam Moon and Lei Garden (Tsim Sha Tsui)--although I'm having doubts on how "traditional" the last one is. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, especially on menu advice, prix-fixe options and prices/value-for-money.

If you are dining solo then I don't believe any of them work for you. The portion sizes are simply too large to be able to select a range of dishes and enjoy a good meal. I know I keep recommending it but the Chairman works well for couples a thy do modest size portions and will resize dishes. I understand Tim's kitchen also does similar.

      I agree with PhilD.
Though a 2*, I think Tim's Kitchen is a great choice! Have the crab claw, the 'crystal' king prawns ( can be ordered by the number ) and a stirred fry 'wok hay' dish.

If you are a regular, Yung Kee or Fook Lam Moon. If just a walk-in, then Lei Garden-'Wan Chai'!

Yes, I feared the VIP system would crop up. Oh well. Does Lei Garden serve its regular menu during lunch (really not keen to do dim sum on this occasion)? Also, can you advise re: menu--what are its most traditional Cantonese offerings? Thanks!
