There used to be a sandwich shop by this name at the southern end of Lincoln Avenue in the 70's. They had dozens of sandwiches on their menu, all with outrageous names. And if you didn't find what you wanted on the menu, they would make it to order for you. One of my favorites: Biercaise cheese, sardine and onion with chopped chicken liver on Italian bread. (I had no significant other at the time). Is there a sandwich shop in Chicago (or elsewhere) like this now?

Chicago Bagel Authority in Lincoln Park might fit the bill. They certainly have large menu of outrageously named sandwiches (although sadly, none include sardines or chicken liver). Depends what exactly you're looking for, but I'm a big fan of their sandwiches:

Yes there is a sandwich shop like this in Chicago.

Jerry's on Division is amazing. It has about a six-page menu with everything on it. Enjoy.
