In spite of its Germanic sounding name, it’s an Italian place. And one offering a really good value two course lunch fro R99. A short menu, of course, three choices at each course. We both started with panzanella – fresh tasting salad ingredients, crisp croutons (could have done with more), and a good vinegary dressing.
For mains, one plate was a pretty decent ossobucco – rich long-cooked meat, served off the bone. Alongside, a timbale of mushroom risotto – perhaps a little too claggy in texture but tasted good. And some mixed veg – carrot, peppers, onion, courgette.
The same veg formed the sauce for a vegetarian lasagne. As with the ossobucco, this was a substantial, rich portion. No-one was going away hungry from this meal.
