The smell of chicken and other quirks

I got to thinking about why it is that some people smell the chicken fart and others don't. I dont' smell it. I wondered if there were any other things that are common amongst people that don't smell it. I thouhgt I'd list a few of my other quirks regarding tastes and smells and see if there are any connections.
I much prefer savory to sweet. This Thanksgiving I made a Porchetta that called for a great deal of Fennel. The fennel was fresh and potent and almost ruined the dish for me. Though I love a hint of it in Italian sausage. The sweet spices, Cinnamon and Allspice, in Pickling mix used to make Corned Beef can make me nauseous if I eat too much. I almost never mix meat and fruit. I don't like the taste of ginger, it like the pickling spice can make me nauseous.
These are my strongest reactions to food tastes and smells. Anyone else?

I cannot eat cold tomato sauce. If I am putting a leftover slice of pizza in a sack to take for lunch at work and I accidentally get some tomato sauce on my finger, I cringe. I have no idea why, but the thought of and taste of cold tomato sauce makes me gag. Now that I think of it, I also cannot drink more than a couple of sips of tomato juice, a bloody Mary or a tomato-based gazpacho.
I do love heated tomato sauces though and I also eat room-temp and cold tomatoes. Odd, I know.
