Food Blogger may be stealing your food photos

cgarner Nov 28, 2011 10:19 AM

Hi All,

I'm posting a link from another food website, (owned by scripps actually) www.food.com

there is a food blogger who has been stealing recipes and pictures from this site and others, and posting them as her own, even to the point of adding her own watermarks on the photos.

she's been on foodbuzz for some time, I guess this all has just recently been discovered and they took her recipes and pictures down, but she seems to be pervasive, posting across too many sites to even name

Here is a link to the discussion, which has lots of useful information.

you may want to check out this Dee Dee's Delights/Deanna Bauer on google+ to see if anyone here who posts pictures for their recipes have had their pictures stolen as well

It appears that the blog is down, as is the Facebook page. No photos on Foodbuzz.

The food blog community is doing a bang up job of reporting the virtual trail and it does appear that the culprit is cleaning up the mess link by link. Gotta love the blog community!

Gottaq wonder what kind of hole she dug herself into... cleaning up after the fact doesn't give her a legal pass.

She'll be wearing a big fat L on her chest for a good long while is my guess.

So glad you let us know. Chef Dennis is a stand-up guy. I'm familiar with him from the Foodbuzz community. The blogger in question gave me an "award" back in February. I just deleted it thanks to your post.

I post A LOT on G+ and it is a great site for foodies and photographers, so you know I shared this post there. Chef Dennis is in my Foodie Circle there.

Wow, that's ridiculous. I wonder just how long she's been doing it and getting away with it.

hard to say, really sad thing is there is a business in Cleveland (the area she's in) that has the name "Dee Dee's Delights" which seemingly has no affiliation with this woman at all, makes me wonder if she's coat tailing on the name of a business that's been around for 20 or so years

Looks like a coincidence. She started off blogging while in Pittsburgh and was using 'Dee Dee' as her handle before moving to Cleveland.

Hopefully it is just a coincidence then.

This is the site that supposedly stole all the photos:

Most of the links on the food.com message board have been taken off, so I assume she must have pulled those shots. It's sad that someone would pass off work as her own but if you look at photos of the cakes on her site, it looks like she's stolen shots from cakewrecks, if that's indicative of her work.

Okay… I’m no Duff Goldman or Buddy Valestro, but really? Is she for real or are those cakes meant to be a joke?

If I paid for a communion cake and she brought that to the party… I think she’d be wearing it (well, maybe not at my kids communion party, that’d be inappropriate)

blown sugar balls??? really? Oh my, she really does have an imagination!

Yeah, I was wondering if she were paid for those cakes. Though, honestly, that Elvis cake looks rights out of Cakewrecks.
