ISO Lamb Bacon

Online suppliers occasionally have lamb bacon, and it's not difficult to make it at home, but I'm looking for a steady place to buy it in the East Bay or SF (South Bay okay too...)

  1. They had some at Fatted Calf in Napa this weekend. Perhaps in the SF store too.

I bought some of the lamb bacon at Fatted Calf last weekend; it was cut relatively thick and sold curled in a round which uncurled when cooked. It was a bit too heavily peppered for my taste and i preferred their lamb crepinette or boudin blanc with chestnuts which were also tasted that morning.

    2. Marin Sun Farms lists it on their site. Not sure if the retail locations carry it but you could call.

      1. Thanks! I'll call these places later to verify that they have it in stock.

Fatted Calf: Lamb belly brined with soy, star anise and honey then dusted with 5 spice and smoked. No price given on website.

Marin Sun Farms: $12.98/lb, you can order on their website and pick up at any of their retail locations.

Marin Sun Farms is now selling lamb bacon at their Rockridge Market Hall storefront. It's pretty smokey.

They still have it on and off, and it's now $14.99/lb. There's also some goat bacon for $14.99 and "beef bacon" which looked a bit leathery.

        2. Fifth Quarter has it fairly often.
