Ideas for Lunch - Somewhere between Milltown and RIdgewood, NJ
Meeting Dad for lunch - somewhere halfway in between would be great. I was thinking Morristown or Millburn?
Dad is SUPER picky!! I think I've posted before on this, but he thinks anything other than "American" (read: hamburgers) or "Italian" (read: pizza, meatballs, pasta) is not a cuisine that he would EVER eat He eats Wendy's, Subway, food from the local pizzeria, etc.. Actually, I will also say he eats Cuban food on occasion, though I only believe that because I've seen it happen...
I on the other hand am a vegetarian outside of my home and don't do fast-food, chain restaurants, or anything overly processed.
We are polar opposites. (Holding head in hands) lol
Any suggestions?
Price range under $15 for an entree. Portions ideally reasonable for dad who eats like there's no tomorrow.
Thanks!

Lunch menu at Tabor Road Tavern is very reasonable... Morris Plains. A beautiful place, can be a memorable lunch. Large portions. Burger is actually a double-burger!

Looks delicious - but almost an hour from milltown and I feel bad having him drive so far. The other two suggestions also pose a similar problem - I guess I was hoping for something closer to him, and further from me - only because he'll be working a long day before we meet...
But thank you!-

Well, now that the rules of engagement have changed ;-) ....why not try Fresco's in Milltown (if you want to make it a 'home' game for Dad), or you can try Il Castillo on Main St. in Woodbridge. There's a couple of good Italians up on the Boulevard in Kenilworth (#138 GSP) as well. Good luck - and have a great time.

Oh, OK-- the original post said Morristown/Millburn area, which Morris Plains certainly is.
But if you want Milltown area, there are a bunch of good places in New Brunswick, perhaps Old Man Rafferty's would fit his taste the best, nothing exotic there, just good ol meat & potatoes done well. Very good burgers too. Nice atmosphere as well.

My fault - I wasn't clear - I thought millburn might be a good mid-way point - but perhaps not -
Pretty much I don't want to go down to Milltown (near where I grew up) and he doesn't want to come up to Ridgewood (too far) -confusing - lol
When I lived down there though I was frequently at Old Man Rafferty's - solid food, definitely nice atmosphere-
Thanks :)
