J.C. Cafe in Chinatown Closes Down

J.C. Cafe on Broadway has shuttered. Sign in windows offers restaurant equipment for sale. This would only be a small footnote except this was one of the few places in Chinatown offering something other than Hong Kong/Cantonese food, in this case Singaporean food. Meanwhile, at your other non-Cantonese option down the street, Yang Chow, there was a huge mob of people waiting to get in all afternoon. I guess that's L.A.'s equivalent to the House of Nanking.

One difference between Yang Chow and House of Nanking is that the latter is a definite tourist trap. It's like an unfortunate combo of Yang Chow and Crustacean.
