Are there any wine bars in Denver/Boulder?

I noticed on my last trip i didn't find any 'wine bars' in the area specifically Boulder. Is it because of the alcohol laws?

i'm not looking for a restaurant/wine bar but a wine shop that set up to do tastings and perhaps offers some cheese and olives on the side but nothing more. in LA many independent wine shops seem to be a wine bar where they offer tastings on various nights like silver lake wines on the link below. just plotting for my next trip to boulder...

I don't think Cuvee is exactly what you're looking for; it's just a bar that serves a lot of wine and small bites (which, IMHO, aren't particularly tasty - you're better off going to a "real" restaurant like Kitchen or SALT that has a decent wine list and ordering your munchies there).

There doesn't seem to be much in the area akin to the Silver Lake place you cited. The West End Wine Shop occasionally does tastings, but not regularly (and their website schedule clearly hasn't been updated for a while). Same with Boulder Wine Merchant. Pettyjohn's does monthly tastings at a local restaurant, I think. But these are all really just wine shops, that happen to do an occasional tasting; not wine bars.

The closest thing around here I can think of are the beer breweries that have taprooms where you can get fresh beer pours and, often, tasty eats from a food truck. Upslope Brewery in North Boulder does this (in partnership with the Comida taco truck), as does Avery Brewery.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there's a place across the street from my office called Cuvee (on Pearl St, at 10th). Never been, and don't know anyone who has (not a good sign, I know), so don't know exactly what it is all about, but it seems to be a wine bar of sorts.
