Crystallized Ginger

A friend who lives in downtown New Haven is looking for this. Where should I advise him to go? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, everybody. No problem finding this at S&S in the produce area. By the way, if you haven't made Ina Garten's Gingerbread (see Food Network site), it's a must. Anything that begins with soaking raisins in rum can't be all bad, right?

head over to the Home Cooking board and check out some of the discussions about Claudia Fleming's recipes for Gramercy Tavern Gingerbread and Guinness Stout Ginger Cake...

Edge of the Woods. http://www.atlanticspice.com/ also has it in bulk at very reasonable prices. It will keep for years if properly stored.

most major supermarkets carry it - usually in the baking aisle. and Trader Joe's has it if there's one nearby.

I found some at an upscale supermarket. You might try asian market as well.
