Has anyone been here yet? Just curious, as it's owned by the same fellow who runs South Brooklyn Pizza (good pizza, bad atmosphere). From brownstoner: http://www.brownstoner.com/blog/2011/...

Was going to congratulate the neighborhood for finally emerging from the eyesore of the OTB after walking by yesterday. But after reading the blog...maybe not so much...

I went twice actually.. The day time weekend menu is kind of weak.. In that they don't have sausages or anything off their regular menu with the exception of pretzels, pizza, and the burger.. The rest seems to be Brunchish type items.. And they don't allow you to order sausages during the day.

We tried the pizza with speck and apple and two types of cheese.. the pizza came incredibly crispy.. the whole pizza could be lifted up on one end and it did not bend or break.. My problem was, it was greasy.. the crust was ok but, again, it was greasy

pretzels are said to be homemade but, when was the question.they were on the harder side.. i thought frozen... but, they serve it with this beer cheese that makes up for the average pretzel.. the pretzel i think was 3 bucks with the cheese it was 7 bucks..

they were out of 4 beers on tap when we went the second day.. people were eating the burger.. people were saying it was good.

We asked for a pickle, they either didn't have any or were like really confused that it was not on their brunch menu so they could not deviate..

Nothing outrageous in the beer selection, wine menu had some better options than you would find in a german bar, the dinner menu looks really exciting actually.. i am looking forward to going back and trying dinner..

      I would skip the pizza.

I don't get it. A German place where you can't order sausages during the day and also out of 4 beers? No pickles? Obviously the management needs some fine tuning.

Actually I was just there on Saturday. I can assure the pretzels are house made... because apparently the experienced some sort of pretzel FAIL earlier in the day, and they couldn't sell us any. We were sitting near enough to the open kitchen that I could see them frantically making pretzels.

Their pizza IS South Brooklyn Pizza, so if you like their pizza, you can get it here. I don't love SBP, so... take that how you will. In my mind their crust is oily (as Daniel76 mentioned). I think the oiliness of the crust is what makes it so crisp when it cooks. But yeah, it's also greasy because of it.

We were able to get the wurst platter for our table. So I'm not sure why you say you couldn't get sausages. We were there at an odd time... we got there around 3PM. It was towards the end of brunch and before dinner. The wurst were good. I'm no wurst expert, but I enjoyed them. I liked their sauerkraut (didn't love), and their red cabbage was a little too sweet for my liking. But in all I was pleased.

The first time I went there I ordered the pretzel and I really enjoyed it; soft, warm, and without a word of a lie, Bigger Than My Head.

I was there two weekend days in a row and stayed from around 12 to passed 3.. When you say the wurst platter, are you referring to their platter of various Charcuterie.. Because, i specifically asked for sausages, they couldn't make me one, we then asked for pickles, they wouldnt give us any, I asked for potato salad, they wouldn't give us any either.. I asked to speak to the manager, she told me they had the items but, could not offer this because it was not on the brunch menu.. Finally, i was ready to leave and I think she realized how stupid her answer was because, she conceded and let us try the potato salad. After it taking 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen, she gave it to us for free..

But in terms of the Sausages, they strictly only sell from the Brunch Menu the weekend I went, and there were clearly no sausages on the Brunch menu.. There was Pork Belly Hash, there was a platter of various Charcuterie, but, no sausages..

In terms of the pizza, I didn't find the crust oily at all, the toppings were oily, the middle was soggy, and there were pools of oil on the plate.

Yeh, i guess you got the start of the new pretzels while I received hard pretzels on both occasions.

I'll stand by my post above. They obviously don't have it together at this time.
