Upscale breakfast Midtown East?

For our last meal in NYC tomorrow morning, we are looking for great ambiance, serving superb versions of classic American breakfast food. Any suggestions appreciated

      I would do breakfast at the Palm Court at The Plaza for an elegant breakfast.

        Thank you so much; this is what we did. The Eggs Benedict on crab cakes were astounding. The ambiance is worth the price of admission, and the service is Old-World perfect. This was a real treat. Expensive, but a memory that we will treasure. (You'll know you're not in Kansas anymore.)

          So glad to hear it was a hit! I have been looking for an excuse to have breakfast there and may just find one very soon!
