70 yr old birthday party

I was put in charge of finding a restaurant for a birthday party. My wife's aunt turns 70. Somewhere between Hallandale & Midtown. Preferably with a private or semi-private area. Ultra-expensive need not to apply. I was thinking Brio in Gulfstream, Sugarcane in midtown. Any thoughts will help
Thank you

Would they consider Chinese/dim sum? Chef Philip Ho in Sunny Isles has areas that look like they can be closed off, reasonable prices, and fun with all the little dishes. Lots of free parking, too.

Sugarcane would probably not be my first choice for a 70th birthday. Noisy, no private area, and I feel like you need to spend a lot of time explaining the "small plates" thing to that generation. Having said all that it's a fun festive place and I like the food quite a bit, if your guest of honor is up for it.

I've always found Timo in Sunny Isles to be a real crowd-pleaser for family gatherings. They may have a semi-private spot next to the bar depending on how big your group is.

I've also had good success bringing family and friends to Sustain. For even more casual, I've found Il Mercato in Hallandale to be pretty charming.
