Marica restaurant on College serves dollar oysters everyday. Don't know if they open for lunch though.

I forget about Marica and I didn't know about 3000 Broadway. Both don't work out for lunch. Turkey sandwich hit the spot fortunately.

Check out 3000 Broadway, across the street from Oakland Grocery Outlet and near Summit Hospital. They did a good job of fixing up the space (former showroom or auto repair shop?) with a black and metal industrial look. It seems to be begging for a bigger lunch trade. It's in the Broadway/Valdez district that Oakland wants to perk up after many of the auto dealerships on that mile-stretch south of the 580 freeway have left. I had some oysters there a few months ago that were fresh and came with 2 sauces ( horseradish and a hot sauce?). Service was friendly and if I had been hungrier would have ordered the garlic noodles.
